At Neteris, as Bottomline's main partner in Spain, we are excited to present the latest update of Transform document management software: version 8.3.

Transform is an essential tool for many companies around the world, helping them manage the design, distribution and delivery of business documents, such as invoices, payment advices and logistics documents.

The new version 8.3 not only enhances the efficiency of these processes, but also introduces significant improvements in security, technology and functionality.

Main new features of Transform 8.3

Transform version 8.3 has been designed with three key objectives: to update the Transform client plugin, to perform a technology refresh, and to provide a secure basis for legacy object replacement prior to their removal in the next release.

1. Transform Client Plugin

New Iconos Blog NETERIS (112)One of the most relevant changes in Transform 8.3 is the update of the client plugin.

Previously, this plugin was limited by the browser, which could generate incompatibilities or restrictions in its use. However, in this new version, the Transform client plugin is browser-independent, which greatly expands its flexibility and compatibility.

This plugin is used in the Transform Content Centre (TCC) and offers several key features for users, including:

  • Multiple Document Emailing: It is now possible to send multiple documents simultaneously, which saves time and improves operational efficiency.
  • Multiple Document Printing: The ability to print multiple documents at once facilitates the management of large volumes of information.
  • Reprint Storage: Documents can be stored for later reprinting, ensuring that they are always available when needed.
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Document Viewing: Users can take advantage of OCR templates for indexing and storing documents in TCC, improving the accuracy and speed of document management.

2. Technological Renovation

New Iconos Blog NETERIS (94)The update in Transform 8.3 is a significant leap towards a more robust and efficient system. One of the most prominent changes is support for the Hardware Security Module (HSM) for digital signature.

In this release, support is available for SafeNet in the 64-bit version, which offers increased security in the digital signature process. It is worth mentioning that Thales is not supported in this 64-bit version.

Another crucial aspect of this technological renewal is the elimination of dependency on the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1. This not only improves the security of the system, but also makes it easier to maintain and reduces the need for frequent updates.

In addition, Transform 8.3 now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2022, allowing companies to take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the latest version of SQL Server, including improvements in performance, security and data analytics.

3. Secure Basis for Legacy Replacement

One of the most strategic features of version 8.3 is the preparation for the future.

Transform 8.3 will be the last version to support most legacy objects, which means that in the next release (Transform 9.0), these objects will be phased out.

To ensure a smooth transition to the new release, it is critical that companies begin replacing legacy objects in their Transform configuration before upgrading to 9.0. This proactive approach will ensure that systems continue to operate without disruption and that existing configurations remain operational and secure.
